Twenty Six Weeks

My sides are really starting to ache. I am beginning to think it's because Baby A has its head jammed under my ribs. I push and prod, massage and whine - nothing really helps. The good news is that it's mostly in the evenings. Its also getting harder for me to get up out of chairs and bath tubs. Kevin always offers to help, but laughs at the same time. I prefer to be independent.

Twenty Six Weeks, One Day

Ah, a three day weekend. I just can't work like I used to work. My brain refuses to concentrate. My ankles swell at work something awful. And it really hurts to sit in the chair because my sacrum feels like putty. I'm thinking of taking a birth ball to work to sit on. The ladies in the office think it's a great idea, though they warned that I'd have to keep certain people from stealing it and playing ball.

Kevin took the boys to get their hair cut, so I took Hilary and Lilah to a kiddie gym class. I let Hilary do all the lifting of Lilah. I think they both had fun. I sat there like a slug, but really enjoyed the company. My friend Kim also goes to the gym, so its another way for us to socialize. She also introduced me to some moms Kevin knows from another gym class. It was great going out to lunch with the girls. Hilary felt like a grown up and was very well behaved. We also attempted the mall. It was a mad house!

Twenty Six Weeks, Three Days

Snore. I'm tired, but can't sleep. I didn't have this problem with my pregnancies with Hilary and Benjamin. At least I can get up and be productive. Kevin made me french toast for breakfast, from homemade bread no less.

I watched Isaac and Lilah today while Kevin took Hilary to services and Benjamin went to school. They were running me ragged. I had more contractions this morning than I've had in a long time. I was really grateful to see Kevin.

Hilary and I ran some errands, including shopping for baby clothes. Then we got Benjamin from school and headed home. It was time to see the midwives again!

Both babies sound good and we could finally hear they both with the fetoscope. I measured about 37 centimeters for my fundal height. YIKES! Urine and BP were good and they think Baby A is head down. I surely hope so. I've been very worried because of the breech/transverse positions at the last ultrasound.

Twenty Six Weeks, Five Days

Yes! Baby A is head down! I'm excited. B was transverse, but at this ultrasound was breech, but still very wiggly. Baby A weighs about 2 lbs 4 oz, Baby B weighs 2 lbs 1 oz. While I know they could be off by quite a lot, it's good to know they are bigger. It makes me feel really good. And my cervix measured between 3.8 and 4.08 cms. Looks like everything is good for my trip next week.
