Nineteen Weeks, Two Days

We went out and looked at another double stroller today. Kevin has to test drive them all. They can be such big monstrosities. Isaac keeps insisting we need a triplet stroller. This is particularly worrisome since he indicated that there was more than one baby long before we knew.

Kevin also decided it was time to tell his parents. So we simply drove over there and sat on their back porch. Kevin just handed his mom the ultrasound photos and they were labeled Twin A and B. She didn't say anything just kept staring at them. He said, "She doesn't get it." She says, "I do - it's twins. And this one is a boy!" I quickly noted she was looking at the baby's face and that we did not know if they were boys or girls. All in all it was pretty mild. No big reaction or anything. She did, however, start calling us to have dinner with them that day. We haven't seen them since because it's been a hectic week. Kevin's dad wasn't there, but I'll assume Kevin's mother told him.

Nineteen Weeks, Four Days

Another prenatal down. And we're all doing fine. The babies are finally starting to cooperate about hearing them with the doppler. That's really a huge relief. I don't feel many movements because the placenta is so large and covers the front portion of the uterus, blocking the sensations until they are bigger. But I did feel baby A for the first time! I have felt baby B for weeks, just sporadically. My BP was fine, everything was fine. I measured 24.5 cms. I was a bit worried because I've read it's supposed to be 6-8 weeks higher for twins, but then again, I'm very wide as my midwife pointed out. My uterus is expanded in both directions.

My next appointment with this midwife will be in 3 weeks, and we scheduled it for a time when my friend April will be in town. So she'll get to meet everyone. It's also the week the kids start school, including Lilah going off to preschool!

Complaints for the week are very similar, tired of feeling ill, particularly in the mornings. The tiredness does seem to come and go. But unfortunately I'm already getting to that sore streak. My pubic bone is popping a lot and my sacrum hurts too, so it's getting harder to get up out of the hole in the couch.
