Fifteen Weeks

It's hard to believe that I'm already fifteen weeks. I can remember counting down the days to 10 weeks, and thinking that it would never get here. However, even the higher number of weeks doesn't seem to make me feel as safe as I suppose I normally would with a singleton pregnancy.

The people at work mostly know now. My one boss is very happy for me, the other asks me constantly if I'm drinking enough water and taking my vitamins. It's very sweet. I assured her I've done this before. Though not everyone has been pleasant about it. One co-worker asked if this was a good thing. Well, duh!

Fifteen Weeks, Three Days

My mother has been on me to tell my grandmother. I hesitated because she has said, since Lilah was born, that Lilah was our last baby. I really didn't know how well she would react. I know she wouldn't blow a gasket, but I was afraid she might cry. I tried to tell her on the phone several times but my husband wouldn't let me. He said that was rude (From the man who hasn't told any of his family!).

So this morning we took her some baked goods and shared the good news. She was actually quite happy for us. She said that she had always wanted twins. She also said that she hoped that they were both boys, because boys were easier to raise.

Later my mom called to thank me for telling her. Grandma says she now has to live long enough for the babies to be born. Glad we could help grandma. We did tell her we'd like to choose a name to honor my grandfather who died shortly after Lilah was born. But we're having trouble finding a name.

Fifteen Weeks, Four Days

Wow, it's hot and humid out! I can't walk in the evenings any more. And I don't have the energy to get out of bed. My morning sickness has been worse the last few days. I've actually gotten sick every morning this week. I stepped on the scale to find I'm down 1.5 lbs from my starting pregnancy weight.

We had a prenatal appointment and everything was fine. My BP was up for me at 110/68, urine was okay, and the babies sounded good, but were very hard to catch! I measured 21 cms! Yikes, how big will I get! Will I even fit in regular maternity clothes? These are the questions I want to know.

I feel the baby on the right fairly often, perhaps once a day. But the baby on the left has an anterior placenta which prevents me from feeling much, but occasionally I will feel something. These movements are very light right now but still very noticeable.
