EDC or EDD: Estimated date of confinement or estimated date of delivery. Same as the due date.

Ectopic pregnancy: One resulting from the implantation of the fertilized ovum in a
site other than the normal one in the uterine cavity.

Edema: swelling of any part of the body due to the collection of fluid in the tissues.
Effacement: the thinning of the cervix. Your cervix starts out being two inches long, and 50% effaced would be a 1 inch cervix.
Embryo: Baby in the early stages of development.

Embryonic Period: The first 10 weeks of gestation.

Endometrium: The lining of the uterus (uterine wall).
Enema: the infusion of a fluid into the rectum for cleansing.
