Q. I had a D & C six weeks ago. I still haven't gotten my period. Should I be worried?

A. Generally, we will tell you that you can expect your period to return 6-8 weeks after a D & C or miscarriage. However, some women go to 12 weeks and that is not abnormal. Ask your practitioner when they want you to call because you haven't had a period. Most of the time you will return two weeks post surgery. That is usually a better time to ask because you can take a list of questions with you.
