Pregnancy Announcement
Collection #2
For our first pregnancy, we told my husband's family in an interesting way. It was after supper, and the whole family had been over at my husband's parent's place. We were all sitting in the family room, and my husband, Greg, said that he had something important to ask mom and dad.
He hummed and hawed a little, and said that he needed to ask to borrow something. Greg's brother was getting impatient, and he said, "Just spit it out, Greg."
Then my husband asked his parents if we could borrow the family cradle, one that had been in the family for over 20 years. The family just stared at us with their mouth open, and we all started laughing and crying at the same time. It was a great way to share our news.
For our second pregnancy, we were all on vacation with my husband's family, down in Palm Springs. We were all gathered around the table, eating supper. It was our first night down there, and my husband and I had it all planned. Greg offered me a glass of wine to drink with dinner, and I said, casually, "No thanks, I'm pregnant."
Once again, everyone looked at us, and their jaws hit the floor again. They were all saying, "You are?!" My Father-in-law, was in the kitchen getting something at the time, so my mother-in-law called him, and said, "Did you hear the news, honey?" He answered, "Yes, I heard something. Which one of my daughters-in-law are knocked up again?" (It was a joke, he has a great sense of humor) We all laughed our heads off.
It turns out that one of my other sisters-in-law was pregnant at that time, but she was not aware of it at the time, it was very early in her pregnancy. She has since had her baby, two months after mine. So we now have 3 lovely little girls to grace our family. We're looking forward to when they can all run around and play together.
