Shower Decoration Ideas III
For my shower, my mother bought baby care supplies (lotion, shampoo, diapers, diaper rash ointment, wipes, wipes refills, etc) and placed them in the center of each table at the shower, then tied a bunch of pink and blue balloons to each. The baby care supplies were weights for the balloons so they didn't float away and I took home all of the items. It was a great way to stock my changing table!
Put stuffed animals all around the rooms, on plant stands lamps, all over the house.

A cute party flavor for baby shower is take a napkin or paper towel (Scot's Work best) fold in half to make the shape of a diaper with tiny pin in front. Dip into melted wax and shape it to form. Use it to put mints or peanuts in for the tables. Add a piece of liner in each one so that mints and peanuts won't fall through the holes. It is a cute decoration and you can get towels in pink and blue.

Another great idea I saw at a shower was a baby wreath. The hostess bought a straw wreath and wrapped coordinating ribbon around entire wreath. As the mom-to-be unwrapped her presents the fancy bows were pinned around the wreath, along with some of the small toys she received. It's something for her to remember her shower by, and an extra decoration for the baby's room.
At my baby shower, my sister collected teddy bears of all sizes since the baby's room was themed in teddy bears. She tied cloth diapers to their bottoms and tied one or two balloons on their hands or around their waist so they weighted the balloons down. They made adorable decorations that everyone loved and I took the bears home for the nursery!
We just gave a shower for a friend and used a scrapbook, glue, stickers, It's A Girl printed paper for scrapbooks or wrapping paper works, Polaroid camera.
We took a picture of each guest with momma to be and let each guest decorate her page and write advice or special prayer for the new parents. On the invitations, we let each guest know this in advance. We also had disposable cameras around, so that guests could take the pictures.

For my sister's shower we had all the little cousins-to-be create a banner to congratulate mom-to-be and to welcome the new addition to our family. Makes a cute decoration.
I saw this decoration at a Christmas shower. My mother-in-law bought an artificial Christmas tree and we all decorated it with baby items (booties, hats, disposable diapers, brushes etc.) It made an eye-catching room centerpiece and made for some pre-shower fun for the guests.
Place Teddy Bears with colored ribbon around the bears neck. Let the bear hold helium balloons.
At all the baby showers I have hosted, One big hit for a centerpiece is what I call a "Rattle Tree". I do not remember where I had seen the idea or if I got it from the "money tree" idea at parities. I choose a branch from a tree with at least a 1/4" stalk but no bigger than 3/4" that has several other branches coming off from it shaped as close to a little bare tree.Put the branch in a pot with dirt or Styrofoam and decorate to your liking. Tie little pink and blue ribbons or main color if you know the sex of the baby on it. In the shower invitations ask that each person bring one small item to hang on the tree. I always add a sample list. These are my suggestions. Remember, you don't want them real big or to heavy.
- ROLL OF FILM
- PACIFIER
- SMALL BABY BOTTLE
- NAIL CLIPPERS
- RATTLE
- SMALL TEETHING RING
- BABY SPOON
- ETC...
Most of these items come sealed in a package with a hole at the top where you can slide on the branches. This makes an excellent center piece and a very handy thing for Mom to take home.
Hi! I buy a pack of napkins and fold them like a baby diaper using a safety pin to close them and filled them up with peanuts. Everyone loved them.
I threw a baby shower for my friend and I made pacifiers. I took the mint flavored lifesavers and jelly beans. You take one of the lifesavers and put it sideways take some white frosting and add the second lifesaver the opposite direction. put on a little more frosting and add the jelly bean it looks just like a pacifier. I tied a ribbon to the bottom lifesaver. Everyone loved them, and they were cheep!!!!!

Another great babyshower decoration is a large pacifier. First, you must use paper mache to make the back of the pacifier. Next, you blow up a balloon. Attach the balloon to the back and you have a pacifier.
