Pam's in Labor
Update Five

Comforting...

It's almost 2:30 p.m. After a nap, some relaxation and lots of comfort from everyone, Christa wants to see what's going on.

Checking...

No real change from this morning. Our doctor comes in and we agree to stop for the evening and start back tomorrow morning. Come back and see us tomorrow. And think open thoughts...

From Pam: Hi again.

Well, the pitocin is giving me plenty of contractions, but they're not doing anything to my cervix. My doctor came by and we discussed our options. She said that we had a few options and we decided to stop the pitocin at 6pm tonight and then start it back at 6 am. My doctor is coming back in around 7am to break my water and we'll see what happens from there. The baby is still at -1 station and we think that breaking my water will enable the baby to drop down where she needs to be. As long as I'm progressing, she'll let me labor, but if the contractions don't do anything to my cervix then we'll be looking at a c-section tomorrow evening. We're really hoping to avoid a section. Robin, my doula, has been great. She's given us a lot of great advice and always gives us both sides of the coin when we have to make a decision. (Thanks Robin!!)

Well, that's about all I have to report for now. My body is tired and sore from the contractions and they're (the hospital staff and my doc) want me to get as much rest tonight as I can. I'll keep ya'll informed and I hope that something happens soon. Take care everyone and thanks for all the support you've given me. :)

God bless, Pam and Kaleigh (boy she must be comfortable!)
