If you haven't heard, this coming Monday is Labor Day in the United States, this year, from 10 a.m.-Noon in over 100 cities across the US, there will be a rally to raise awareness about birth outcomes. It's not a protest, it's only goal is to get people to take notice of the situations that birthing women face in the US. Their goal is to promote evidenced based care for women and their families in the birth experience.

"Despite the dire situation, this is not a protest," says Dawn Thompson, founder of ImprovingBirth. "It is a public awareness campaign to bring attention to the outdated practices that have been proven time and again to not be what is best for mothers and babies."

Women, men, children, everyone is welcome to participate. You can find cities from Tampa Bay Area to Elizabethtown, KY to Seattle and back.

This also kicks off Empowered Birth Awareness Week, which is traditionally beginning on the first Monday of September.

You can find out more about the National Rally for Change on Labor Day at their site or on Facebook.

Will you be participating?
