This week National Public Radio (NPR) launches it's summer long special, The Baby Project. They will follow nine women's pregnancy from the last weeks through the first weeks of the babies' lives, including the births. These women have all sorts of situations and plans - a deployed husband, twins, a lesbian couple, a mom on bedrest... The stories, I've been reading today on the blog have all been so real and honest, they have a very different tone than most of the pregnancy blog posts I've read before. I'm not sure, why but I like it!
You can also hear stories entitled "Beginnings" on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting today, Monday, June 27, and run through August 2011 on All Things Considered. This will have a global take on the politics, culture and physical parts of pregnancy. You can listen to today's story: "In Mozambique, Grim Prospects for Mother and Child"
Have you seen them? Anyone you're identifying with yet?
