Giving Birth in a Blizzard

Well the stories are starting to come in about women who are having to give birth at home unassisted due to the snow storms around the country or who had trouble getting to the hospital.  One organization, The Big Push for Midwives, is organizing it's networks to help connect stranded women and midwives.  I suggested this to a doula friend who said she got a call from an old client who now lived far away that was in early labor with no way to get to the hospital where she had planned to give birth due to snow.

Have you heard stories of snow babies yet?

I just read that David Blaine flagged down a snow plow when his fiance went in to labor in NYC last Wed night and they could not get a cab or limo..
