As Thanksgiving and other food laden holidays approach people start to talk about watching their weight around the holiday meals and good food about to come. And now that we're at New Year's the subject turns to weight loss. Being pregnant, you might be less worries, but it brings up an important topic: Dads who gain weight in pregnancy. You might wonder about how many dads gain weight along with moms-to-be. While there isn't a lot of data out there, there are plenty of anecdotes of men who claim to have gained weight. My own husband claims he gained 10 pounds with each pregnancy, though admits he lost it much more easily than having to give birth.
Recently someone told me about a husband who gained over 50 pounds during his wife's pregnancy. I couldn't help but wonder how, since that's more than even a pregnant woman is supposed to gain. You just don't know what to say in those situations.
So tell me, what's been happening in your pregnancy? Is he gaining weight along with you? And why? More food? Better food? Less exercise?

I am 36 weeks pregnant and have so far gained 16 pounds. My husband on the other hand, has probably gained 25! this is due to me nesting and making tons and tons of baking, none of which I want to eat, because I have a sweet aversion at the moment. So, we have all this baking and my husband feels that it is his obligation to eat it. I don’t know why I feel such a need to make it since I don’t want any, but something keeps telling me to “bake bake bake!”
My husband has gained weight much more than I during my pregnancy. We always eat together from the same plate, and as I usually cant eat much at once, he finishes everything on the plate – I think that is what has caused his weight gain.
