Everyone loves a good party! And a baby shower is another excuse to throw a big party. Though with the economy in a downturn, there are people who are worried about having a fun shower without breaking the bank. So I've been thinking of some great tips for a budget baby shower, that doesn't look so budget tight. What else would you add to the list?

We should all rethink using paper goods every time we have a party. Eating from real plates is so much nicer! Martha Stewart and the other paragons of style have taught us that we don’t even have to have a huge set of dishes. Mix and match is all the rage. Since there are usually several hostesses for baby showers, everyone can pitch in, and cleanup shouldn’t take long. Also, avoiding paper is environmentally friendly. Great hints, Robin!

Thanks, Susan. I’ve also just remembered that pot luck can be fun too. Another thing about plates that might be fun is purchase toddler plates to use that later the baby can grow into. So it’s a combo gift and useful shower item!
