Thrifty Thursday: Free Childbirth Class Online

Thursday October 15, 2009

Childbirth classes are an important part of preparing for a baby, no matter what type of birth you are planning. There are many different types of childbirth classes to choose from in most areas. You can also take your class from professional childbirth educators who are not employees of hospitals or take a hospital class. No matter what class you take to prepare for childbirth, you should be given a range of topics including:

  • How to tell if you're in labor.
  • Type of relaxation you can do in labor.
  • Positions to speed labor and childbirth.
  • Various medication and procedures used in childbirth.
  • Cesarean childbirth and Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)
  • Postpartum Life and Issues
  • Breastfeeding Basics

Sometimes an online class can be a nice booster to your regular childbirth class. It can also be helpful for moms on bedrest or those partners who may miss a class for work or who are unable to attend class for whatever reason. You can sign up for our free online childbirth class and receive weekly notes to remind you to come to class at your own pace.
