Avoiding Food Hazards in Pregnancy

Cookouts and other parties looming large in the horizon, perhaps it's time to review the food rules to live by when you're pregnant. Is grandma's turkey safe? What about seafood and cheese? What is safe to consume and what should you pass on at the holiday table this year? Also as you head to cook outs and picnics, look for food that has been out of the cold too long!

Usually I could take or pass on a glass of red wine with dinner but it seems now that I can’t have any I want it when others are enjoying some! To fit in a little better I bought regular grape juice and drank it in a wine glass like all the other party guests.

I have had really strong cravings for sausage, but it has nitrates, which I was told to avoid. I avoid it most of the time, but every once in a while have some anyway.
