Accutane and Pregnancy

There are many medications that you can take in pregnancy safely, though not every medication can be taken without a worry. A good example of a drug that is dangerous in pregnancy would be Accutane. Accutane is a powerful drug used for many to help alleviate problems with acne. But the price of good skin can have disastrous effects on your baby. Learn about Accutane before you get pregnant.

When you are trying to decide if a medication is safe in pregnancy or not most people consult their midwife or doctor, their pharmacist and other medical resources. Each medication is listed with a categorized letter stating what the potential risks are in pregnancy.

A lot of over-the-counter medications aren’t safe either! Benzoyl peroxide, for example, is a no-no for use during pregnancy.
