Do You Recognize the 25 Early Pregnancy Symptoms?

Monday November 24, 2008
Are you trying to get pregnant? Trying to figure out if you're pregnant or not can be a big deal. I know that my first sign of pregnancy is different than most people - I get horribly, can't-get-your-head-out-of-bed exhausted. This usually happens before a late period even. Some women know they are pregnant from the time of conception, because they are so tuned in to their bodies. Sore breasts rank fairly high on the list of new signs of pregnancy. Other women need that pregnancy test to show them what they may be wondering about. What was your first pregnancy symptom?

(3) Elizabeth says:

My first pregnancy sign with baby #1 was weight loss: I’d lost 5 lbs before the pregnancy test registered anything! With my second baby, I ‘just knew’ (although I was obsessed with getting pregnant again, so it could have been just very strong wishful thinking and luck), and soon came the nausea!

(4) Jessy says:

Well with my first pregnancy my first sign was a pulling feeling right about where my overies are. I went to the hospital thinking it was stones of some sort and it ended up being my body stretching from pregnancy!

It may sound unreal, but strangely subconsciously/ instinctively i felt that I might be pregnant that particular month. So i cut out all the food that they say is not good for a pregnant woman to eat.

(6) pregnancy says:

Isn’t it neat how to body can simply “know?” Many women say that they find themselves avoiding things they really loved once pregnant (whether they know or not), like coffee, sweets, etc. Scientists can’t say why this happens yet but it appears to be a nice protective happening, since many women also claim that cigarettes are now nasty too.

With my first pregnancy, I didn’t feel much like drinking alcohol or smoking, as I drank and smoked quite heavily back then. With my second pregnancy, I got a terrible metallic taste in my mouth 3 days after the conception and I knew right away I was pregnant!

Well, I got pregnant on the depo shot so I already didn’t have my period. The first thing that I noticed that was changing was my veins got a lot darker, mainly in my chest area and on my arms. Then I started feeling sick, never threw up, but just felt sick. And my breasts started hurting really bad. I went in to get my next shot and found out I was pregnant! They did an ultrasound and I was actually almost 3 months pregnant! We’re trying for baby #2 now!! And I thought I would definately get pregnant the first try but I had my period, only it was a lot lighter and only 3 days long and I am really starting to feel pregnant. I would be 6 weeks now if I am.

With this pregnancy I got very clingy to my husband (I was that way when pregnant with my 2 other children), a lot more emotional, and my sense of smell was heightened. I took a test 3 days before I was supposed to start and got my positive. I’m due June 10, 2008!

(16) Dianna says:

I am trying to get pregnant now. My husband and I have been together for 12 years and finally decided to get off the pills and start trying.

I have been having some cramps and feeling a bit nauseated but sometimes I feel that way when I ovulate..so who knows.

I have heard that when ladies are trying to hard that it doesnt happen.

Any suggestions?

(17) pregnancy says:

Certainly there are some who say that stress prevents conception. You don’t say how long you’ve been off the pills, only that you’ve been with your dh for 12 years. The general rule of thumb is that you try for a year before seeking treatment for fertility issues, 6 months if you’re over 35. In that time period, you should also try things like Basal Body Temperatures to chart ovulation. This will not only help you get pregnant, but put you ahead of the game when it comes to seeing a fertility specialist, should you need to do so.

I’d encourage you to come on over to: http://pregnancy.about.com/mpboards.htm

There are lots of women trying to get pregnant and it’s a great support system.

(18) hotmama says:

My husband and I had been “trying” for over 2 years, but because we’ve had such different work schedules, We’ve only gotten the timing right a handful of times. I didn’t tell him that I was fertile, but we got the timing right this cycle, and I have to say, I feel different from when the timing was right before. I’m super emotional now, exhausted, I have dull lower back pain, lower abdominal cramping, and today I threw up while brushing my teeth. I’ve read in other’s comments that they inherently know. I’m feeling that way. My period’s not due for another 5 or 6 days, so I have to wait for confirmation.

(20) Betty says:

Well when I got pregnant I felt like my period was coming the cramping just like it, I felt bloated somehow I had in my mind that may be I should test I testet and it came up negative I was really sad and all then 3 days later tested again and it came up positive, my breast were feeling heavy that’s why I tested again and that was a day before my period. I was supposed to be 3 months when I had this light bleeding more like a really light brown went to the ER and realized that I had a missed miscarriage, I had miscarried at 8 weeks, the weird thing is that I had a ultrasound right before the 8 weeks and I mean days before the baby’s heart beat and the size were more then ok, now 3 months after miscarriage trying to conceive hard but still trying, I have been feeling kind of bloated again think I might be, but don’t want to get my hopes up.

(21) Nicole says:

Hubby and I are trying for our first, and when I talked to my mom, she said with all four of her pregnancies, she knew she was pregnant right away because she started feeling nauseous just days after ovulation. She said she got BFP right away, too, and was vomiting with morning sickness even before she missed a first period.

I hope I’ll be able to tell that soon, but I could do without the nausea! ::smile::

(22) Eva says:

I’ve been pregnant three times before and now for the fourth time. I miss carried all three times and am absolutely terrified for this one as I started to have cramps this morning… I’m about 6 weeks now and hoping it’s only a symptom rather than anything else! I knew I was pregnant days after ovulation, that was a first.

(23) Robin Elise Weiss, LCCE says:

It can be just a symptom, which is scary, particularly when you’ve got a history of miscarriage. Call your doctor or midwife for reassurance and try not to stress too much.
