Oh baby! Oh baby! Obama!

Monday November 17, 2008
Did you know that birth rates peak in August and September every year? We usually explain this by the loving feeling form the winter holidays and cold weather. But next August we might be looking at an even higher number of births, due to the loving feeling of an election?!? Yes, it's true, some are predicting that the feelings of hope and joy after the election on the part of some, will cause a spike in the birth rate.

Birth rates spiking are one thing, but seriously, do you realize that there are already people out there naming their child Obama, Barack and even Barack Obama. I find that interesting. It's definitely not my kind of name, even as a middle name. Barack is African for blessed, which is from the Hebrew Baruch, also blessed/blessing. I'm not sure what my take on the name would be if I were intent on naming my baby after Barack Obama. What variation of the name would you choose?
