How will you spend early labor?

Tuesday July 1, 2008

Some of my fondest memories are spending early labor with my husband watching Notting Hill in the wee hours of the morning. It was calm and easy. As labor picked up, the television went off and we gradually began to use comfort measures and deal with the more intense labor as it came. Antoria Gillon, a contestant on American Idol, spent her early labor auditioning for the reality TV show - and made it to Hollywood. She then left and went to have her baby.

Early labor can actually be a fun, special time. The trick is how you spend that time before you go to the hospital or birth center. It will also make you more comfortable.
