Problems with Your Prenatal Vitamins?

Friday October 26, 2007
Out this week are the new Food Pyramid Guidelines for Pregnancy and Breastfeeding. You enter your personal information and it tells you guidelines for weight gain for each trimester as well as specific nutrient requirements. My biggest complaint is that it won't even give nutritional guidelines for women who are deemed over or under weight. Most people think of nutrition as optional if they are taking prenatal vitamins, but the fact remains that prenatal vitamins are a supplement, think of them as your lifeguard. They protect you against the occasional unbalanced day. That means that these new personalized food pyramids are perfect for women when it comes to helping you figure out where to spend your calories.

But you know the drill, you start trying to conceive and the first thing you do is go out and buy some prenatal vitamins. Prenatal vitamins are a staple in pregnancy. The problem is that many pregnant women have problems taking them. So, if you need them, how do you fix the problems?
