Amber Alert Issued for Missing Newborn

A mother in Missouri simply answered the door to her home and was trying to help a stranger who needed to use the phone. The stranger then pulled a gun and used a fillet knife to stab the new mother and slit her throat. And then stole her newborn baby daughter, Abby. Luckily the mother's older son was in the home but unharmed. When the mother was able she fled to a neighbor's house to call for help. The mother is now in the hospital recovering from surgery for her wounds, but her one week old daughter is still missing.

Pregnancy and domestic violence, unfortunately go hand in hand. Though violence in the pregnant and postpartum period is not usually perpetrated by strangers, as in this case.
