Lack of Vitamin D Linked to Low Birth Weight in Babies

Having a low birth weight baby is a bad thing. A new study shows that you need Vitamin D to grow your baby well. Currently you are advised to get about 5 micograms during pregnancy. Some news reports are incorrectly stating that the only way to get Vitamin D is via fortified milk. While this is certainly one source, there are others including exposure to the sun (10-15 minutes twice a week on the face, neck and hands without sunscreen is adequate.), and some fish and fish oils, and fortified cereals.
