I remember when I had my first baby. The nurse came in to check on us several hours after her birth. She wanted to know if I had fed Hilary again since she had nursed right after birth. I said no and felt really stupid. But she hadn't been crying, wasn't that how I was supposed to know to feed her? The nurse told me that I shouldn't feed her by waiting until she cried that that was too late.
Seven babies later I've learned what the feeding cues are so that feeding time isn't some big scary, horrible, awful tangle of nerves here.


How often are yo supposed to feed? I am 5 months pregnant and this is my first child.
